If you're talking about one of the Linksys routers with the
built in NAT firewall, then it's all going to depend on
whether you've got it setup correctly. If you've enabled the
DMZ port and your computer's network card is plugged into the
DMZ port, you're definitely not "safe".
Generally, you'll be safe from exposing your File Sharing to
the outside network if you're using NAT. That's assuming
you're NOT using port forwarding.
