DES Password Analysis
Password File (limited to 25 username:password pairs)
Instructions: Enter your username:encrypted password (where the encrypted password is actually the DES checksum) one per line, and we will compare DES checksums for each word in the word list below and against the username (for people who use their username as their password) to try to determine the "unencrypted" password. Though many Unix systems are switching to the more secure MD5 encryption method, many UNIX systems still use DES encryption to compute the checksum for their password. If any passwords are found, you should force those users to change their password to a more "secure" one (other than a single word or common proper name).
Example (Paste in the following two lines as if from a passwd file):
tomc:x0VBKidAIltJI:221:200::/home/tomc:/usr/bin/ksh
You may also paste in an abbreviated form, as if from a .htpasswd file:
tomc:x0VBKidAIltJI
If you receive an Internal Server Error, sorry, my webserver is too busy to process your task and is timing out. Try one password at a time or try back later.
